CUBS...for exploration!
7-10.5 years
Meets every Tuesday 18H30-20H00
The Cub Pack forms the second section of the Scouting movement and uses Rudyard Kipling’s ‘The Jungle Book’ as a symbolic framework. Between the ages of 7 and 10½, Cubs are given the opportunity to experience new activities and explore their talents through swimming, music, exploring and computing amongst many others. They learn about first aid, safety in different areas, country and highway codes, knotting and building a fire. Their leadership skills are tested and they are allowed to improve important knowledge and skills which are useful in their everyday life such as communication, teamwork and decision making. Values such as trust, discipline and loyalty are always promoted. They achieve new competencies by working for badges which they then proudly wear on their uniform. During all activities, Cub scouts follow their motto: ‘Do your best’ – a concept which they are encouraged to apply in all aspects of life.
