Scouting is one of the success stories of the past century. Its motto is “Be Prepared” and it achieves this through many varied, fun and educational programmes for members in all sections. The essence of Scouting is fun, outdoor activities, adventure and a strong sense of community. It aims to help children develop at their own pace and to build their self-esteem and self-confidence. Children spend time with friends in a safe and fun environment with the right dose of discipline thus growing into mature and responsible individuals.
Żejtun Scout Group is one of the oldest and largest groups on the island. It was founded in 1917 and has over 100 members. Its headquarters are located at Juventutis Domus, St. Gregory Street, Żejtun. The group caters for boys aged between 5 and 26 years, and even older than that should they wish to give back to the community by becoming leaders themselves. Leaders follow a training programme at Island Headquarters to achieve their Woodbadge which prepares them to deliver high quality educational programmes in a manner which is safe and fun for all those involved.
